Our Doberman Puppies
Our puppies are born and raised in our home, with each litter being carefully planned to produce beautiful and healthy Dobermanns with a friendly and sound temperament.
Our aim is to breed healthy Dobermans that can achieve good longevity within our bloodlines. To support this aim, we conduct health screening of our breeding dogs for genetic disorders commonly found in their breed. This would include, but is not limited to;
-
Heart screening through ultrasound and/or 24 hour Holter, and/or DNA tested.
-
Hip joint formation is x-rayed and certified by OFA to ensure that our lines are free of Hip Dysplasia.
-
Eye testing ( CAER) to screen for hereditary blindness called PHPV/PTVL.
-
Von Willebrand disease (vWd) and other genetic disorders are screened through DNA testing by Embark (or other certified laboratories).
-
Blood testing is done to rule out hereditary issues relating to thyroid, hepatic, and renal disease.
In addition to having good health, our breeding dogs must display good temperament. Dobereich Dobermans demonstrate a love for people and should never be aggressive without provocation.
A Doberman that doesn’t meet this breeding criteria will not be included in our breeding program.
We raise our puppies in a home environment and expose them to positive social situations, helping them adjust smoothly to life in their future homes. The dam plays a key role in raising and socializing her puppies. She will continue to rear her puppies even after weaning, for as long as she chooses, and for as long as it is healthy for her and the puppies to remain together.
Puppies are raised on a highly nutritious, naturally preserved commercial diet that is mixed with specially formulated home-prepared foods. A list of recommended foods, suggested dietary supplements, and cooked (stew) recipes are included in Dobereich's puppy guide. Also included in the puppy guide is a list of safe toys and treats for your puppy, grooming information, socialization and training tips.
We breed, show, and promote our Dobermans to maintain the breed standard and ensure quality. Show or working prospects are offered to owners that will enjoy exploring the individual talents of their puppy. Above all else, we place the greatest importance on the safety, well-being, and happiness of every puppy that leaves our home. Dobereich puppies are available to approved owners that wish to own a quality Doberman to cherish as a family companion above all else.
